HOW TO KEEP YOURSELF COOL IN THIS SUMMER?

Does anyone of you ever wish that summer didn’t come? If the answer is yes then we are on the same team. But all of us sadly know that it just couldn’t happen. Living in a country like India, where the hot weather stays for at least six months you got nothing to do except getting used to it. Getting out in the sunlight for just 5 minutes means getting your exposed skin tanned. It doesn’t mean that by sitting inside our homes we can not feel the heat, it’s everywhere you just cannot ignore or get away with it. Too much fun in the sun can cause not only dehydration but also more serious conditions like sunstroke and heat exhaustion so here are the tips to survive hot weather.

It’s that time of the year again- where even a quick walk to your mailbox is enough to make you break a sweat. While you can’t control the weather, there are a few things you can do to beat the heat without driving up cooling costs.
We have all been there- tossing and turning in bed, struggling because sweat has practically glued to the sheets. IT IS AWFUL!

There are a few things worse than trying to catch some shut-eye or even just relax for that matter in an incredibly hot, sticky room. But brutal summer temps are unavoidable for most of us at some point in the year.

Here are a few tips which will help you to keep yourself cool this summer:-

#1. PICK COTTON TO survive hot weather

I know cotton could sound boring to a major of people, but in today’s world comfort is fashion. If you want to beat the heat then stick to those soft cotton clothes in your closet. Opting for lightweight cotton clothing is the best option when it’s scorching outside.
Avoid dark colors and keep summery with whites and cream, as these are more likely to reflect the sun’s radiation.

#2. STAY HYDRATED

Your body temperature rises when the outdoor temperature goes up. To maintain a normal, comfortable temperature, your body needs to release heat through its pores. A little perspiration is good. Excessive sweating, however, can cause dehydration, which dominates into a sour mood, irritability, and sluggishness. That’s why it’s important to keep your body temperature down before you go outside.

#3. SHUT OUT THE SUN

While you are inside the house try to avoid the sunlight as much as possible. The rays of the sun can easily come inside your home whereas, getting those sunrays out can be tough. This generally results in the overheating of the house. Keep blinds and curtains closed during the day as a preventive measure to stop your room from overheating and survive hot weather.

#4. COVER YOURSELF

The best and easiest way to avoid the heat during summer is to cover your body as much as you can while outside. It does not mean that you wear a tent and walk around but be smart and think of different ways you can avoid exposing your skin to the harmful sun rays. Hats, scarfs, trendy umbrellas can elevate your look and save you from the scorching heat during summers.

#5. HAVE A HEALTHY MEAL

Another way by which you can keep your body cool is by having a proper meal. Avoiding junk would be the best option, stick to freshly made home cooked food. Maintain a balanced diet. Include more of fruits and green veggies in you every diet. They help in keeping our body cool from inside.

#6. GO EASY WITH THE MAKE-UP

I know girls it won’t be easy but your skin needs it. During summer our skin needs to breathe a lot, and putting a layer of makeup over it won’t be helpful in any way. In fact, stick to a minimum makeup look that makes you appear fresh and cozy even in this heat.

#7. CARRY YOUR SIPPER

I cannot stress more than how much important it is to maintain the ph balance of your body and keep yourself hydrated during the summer season. Drinking just 6-8 glasses of water per day won’t be enough in this heat. Try to carry you, sipper, where ever you head to whether it’s the market, shopping mall or anywhere just carry that cute little slipper of yours to keep your body hydrated at all times which helps survive hot weather easily. Trust me it helps a lot.
